I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for my sins

Because of God’s love for us He chose to set you and me free; to believe what we will.

Abraham believed in God before there was the Bible, current knowledge about DNA and the return of the nation of Israel to their homeland in 1948, after at least three exiles and the Jewish Diaspora.

These are my beliefs:

  • God created the universe
  • Jesus is the Son of God
  • Jesus died for my sins
  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God

Because I believe all of the above and have stated that belief from my heart to all who will listen, I know that I will be with Him in paradise someday.

One of the reasons I know that I will be with Him is because of a passage from the Bible that gets right straight to the point.

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” – 1 John 5:13 (NIV)

Because I love God, who first loved me, I choose to spend the rest of my life praising Him and doing what I can, with my humble abilities and with His great strength, to serve Him and His Kingdom.

“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." – Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

Commentary on Joshua 24:15 from Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary

“It is essential that the service of God's people be performed with a willing mind. For LOVE is the only genuine principle whence all acceptable service of God can spring.

The Father seeks only such to worship him, as worship him in spirit and in truth. The carnal mind of man is enmity against God, therefore, is not capable of such spiritual worship. Hence the necessity of being born again. But numbers rest in mere forms, as tasks imposed upon them. Joshua puts them to their choice; but not as if it were indifferent whether they served God or not. Choose you whom ye will serve, now the matter is laid plainly before you. He resolves to do this, whatever others did. Those that are bound for heaven must be willing to swim against the stream. They must not do as the most do, but as the best do. And no one can behave himself as he ought in any station, who does not deeply consider his religious duties in family relations. “

I am certain that there is no higher authority in or under Heaven and that Yahweh loves you and me.

If you believe in another higher authority, then that is your privilege. As the saying goes, “Only time will tell.”

Before you try to write me off as being a naïve simpleton, I have earned a respected scientific degree and my Mensa member number is 1124539.

You can doubt me if you wish, with no real consequence; but if you doubt God it is at your own peril.

Thanks, Michael. I actually met Bob Dylan at a concert in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the late-eighties. He still appears to be painfully bashful.

A beautiful proclamation. It reminds me of a Bob Dylan song, "Gotta Serve Somebody, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, but you're gonna have to serve somebody."

You are far from a naive simpleton. You would be what the Bible classifies as wise. Very good and God bless.

I might not be a Christian but I do know Christian faith teaches many great things like the 10 commandments. The world would be a better place if we all can uphold these commandments despite what we believed in and one thing I definitely believe in is that there is a higher being out there we all called GOD. Bob, it's nice to know you are a man of God because you are a great Pharmacist as well.

It really is pretty simple, and man keeps on making it more and more complicated. I am thankful, that I had an important person enter my life who had common sense, and preached with that philosphy, God has such a simple plan for us, Thanks Diamond, I enjoy your hubs.
